2011 Season

Turnovers and Penalties major factors in Loss
Week 1

The Broncos lost an important divisional home game to the Raiders by a score of 23-20. The game was full penalties and overall sloppy play. Quarterback Kyle Orton threw an interception and fumbled as well, which caused chants of Tim Tebow from the crowd. The Raiders pounded the Broncos with the running game piling up 190 yard on 39 carries. It was obvious from the beginning that Raiders offensive game plan would rely heavily on the run and Denver could not slow it down. The defense is a work in progress so it will be interesting to see how John Fox makes adjustments for next week.

First win of the season notched in a nail biter

Week 2

The Broncos notched their first win of the 2011 campaign with a 24-22 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Cincinnati had more total yards and zero turnovers as they relied heavily on the pass. The Broncos run defense played well limiting the Bengals to 72 total yards on the ground. Offensively Kyle Orton managed the game efficiently and running back Willis McGahee ran for over 100 yards and one touchdown. Wide Receiver Eric Decker was once again a huge factor in the game scoring 2 touchdowns (following up the touchdown he scored in week 1). It was as a hard fought victory that the Broncos want to build upon.

Turnovers lead to defeat in Tennessee

Week 3

The Broncos turned the ball over twice and failed to produce running the ball in a 17-14 defeat versus the Titans. The Broncos could only produce 59 yards on 23 carries for a miserable average 2.6 yards per carry. Kyle Orton had a sub par game throwing for only 173 yards and having 2 of his passes intercepted. Overall the offense produced a paltry 231 total yards. There were a few missed opportunities to put points on the board and the game was in reach to win. Next week the road gets only tougher as a trip to Lambeau Field awaits.
